The Long Island Masterworks is always looking for new talented singers to join our ranks.

Rehearsals

We generally rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7:45 pm to 9:45 pm at the Sawmill Mandracchia Middle School in Commack. Extra rehearsals are added during the week before any concert — these will be announced well in advance.

Requirements

Singers are expected to be competent sight-readers. Given the level of musicianship and the amount of music generally being prepared, Ms. Roberts generally does not have time to rehearse each vocal section on their parts — singers are exected to come to rehearsal prepared to sing the piece to a basic level of competency. This allows the conductor time to hone the performance to the excellent level we expect of ourselves.

Auditions

Each singer who wishes to audition should prepare a piece from the standard classical or art-song repertoire, and should be prepared to sight-read a piece of music of the conductor's choosing.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Masterworks singer, please contact out chorus manager, Mr. Jim McLean: manager@limasterworks.org
