History Long Island Masterworks:

Founded in 1990, the Long Island Masterworks has a history of bringing the finest old and new music to Long Island audiences.

Below are some of the highlights of our 20+ year history:

1991 Premiere of Long Island Masterworks under Frances C. Roberts on the Andy Williams Christmas Show, Madison Square Garden.
1993 Performance of Bach's Mass in b minor under Richard Westenberg and Verdi's Four Sacred Pieces under Semyon Veckshtein with the Nassau Symphony Orchestra.
1994 Concert for a Cure under Frances C. Roberts raised money for breast cancer research and received extensive press coverage, including a review in the New York Times.
1995 Performance of Haydn's Mass in Time of War under John Rutter and Verdi's Requiem under Donald Kendrick at Carnegie Hall.
1996 Performance of Mozart's Coronation Mass under Simon Carrington at Carnegie Hall.
1997 Performance of opera choruses under John Rutter at Carnegie Hall.
1998 Premiere of Roger Ames' In Memoriam Warsaw 1943 under Frances C. Roberts which received extensive press coverage including full-page stories in Newsday and The New York Times.
Performance of Verdi, Requiem under Peter Tiboris at Carnegie Hall.
1999 Performance of Beethoven's Symphony #9 under Edo DeWaart
2000 Performance of Bach's Magnificat under Frances C. Roberts.
2002 Rolling Requiem in memory of the victims of 9/11.
Performance of Fauré's Requiem, Poulenc's Gloria and Verdi's Te Deum under Robert Page.
2003 Performance of Beethoven's Mass in C, Brahms' Nanie and the "Prologue" from Boito's Mefistofele under Frances C. Roberts.
Rodgers and Hammerstein in Concert
2004 Performance of Mozart's Coronation Mass and Bernstein's Chichester Psalms under Peter Bagley.
